"My body switched off but my mind switched on."
Paddy Slattery is an award winning writer/director/producer from Offaly in Ireland but it was never his plan to pursue a career in cinema. Starting out as a painter decorator on a building site, BBC reporter Colm Flynn met with Paddy to hear the story of how his life changed direction following a car crash that left him paralyzed.

BIO

Paddy is an IFTA nominated filmmaker who fell in love with the art of Filmmaking and Music during an uncertain time in his life, after he was restricted to a bed for almost a year, following a serious car accident. He suffered a severe spinal cord injury and subsequently remains Quadriplegic. In Paddy’s words

My body switched off and my imagination switched on…

Not one for sitting still, he now channels his energy towards the most obvious form of escapism; film and music. With regard to filmmaking; being inspired by greats of the film world such as David Lean, Stanley Kubrick, Andrei Tarkovsky, Sergio Leone, PT Anderson among others, Paddy feels it’s his time to take a step towards emulating his hero’s work.

I want to make films that will evoke and inspire. Films that will, not only entertain you, but leave a lasting impression…

And just like that, 2016 draws to an end...

The last few months have been busy for us behind the scenes, raising funds and awareness for my debut feature The Broken Law of Attraction. It was a very productive and educational process but in January we plan on rolling up our sleeves and ramping up our campaign in order to raise the necessary funds to make this film.

Your continued support has been phenomenal and gives us great confidence going into the New Year. We also have some big news to share with you all very soon so stay tuned over the festive holidays!

In the meantime, here are some behind the scenes photos of our recent promotional shoot. Thank you to Film Equipment Hire Ireland for your extremely generous support; to John Redmond for your incredible photography and to our amazing cast and crew for your dedication, time and talent.

Finally, from all of our team, we'd like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a healthy, joyous, adventurous and prosperous New Year.
